It truly shocked me to find that, in Western Africa, especially the Ivory Coast, children are working full-time on the cacao plantations. It breaks my heart to see them put through so much pain. They should be attending school to gain a future. It is such a shame that people are not aware of this problem

I made this two minute Public Service Announcement. It started out as a school project, but The International Labor Rights Fund asked me if they could use it on their Web site: LaborRights.org and I happily said yes.

The more I discuss this with my friends, the more I realize that this is a complex issue and the simple solutions probably won't work. But that is not an excuse to do nothing. Those of us who enjoy chocolate need to take this very personally and do everything we can to help.
